| If you're willing to stump up a considerable sum of money for a 22in monitor, choosing one without a digital connection doesn't make sense. AOC's 2216Sa has just one VGA port on the rear for an analogue connection, and it's a fairly uninspiring monitor overall.
The monitor's design is bland, and the image quality isn't much better. Colours are washed out and lack vibrancy, and the general colour tone is cold, even after extensive attempts at tweaking it in the menu. There's a fair amount of contrast, with reasonably deep blacks and bright whites, but you should avoid the dynamic contrast. Unlike the unobtrusive LG implementation, AOC's version insists on swinging the dynamic range up and down with every change of lighting in a movie. After two minutes we had a headache.
The stand is not adjustable and looks a little cheap, while the integrated speakers are average at best, giving us no real reason to recommend the 2216Sa. There are much better monitors here for those looking for a large 1,680x1,050 desktop.
